I've mentioned it before, but I've been doing long-term testing of a first generation Nest, and so far it's been no trouble whatsoever. Never crashed, locked up, lost its internet connection, or done wonky things...

The only quirk I've had is sometimes it will kick from 1st to 2nd stage heating for a very short amount of time before shutting off (temperature reached).
