That's typically how the business model works. This is a business after all.
As pointed out by many people, URC does not prevent dealers from giving the software and helping people. But, certain people on this site do.
If you were my customer we might have a different conversation.
This is a poor business model which few important companies use. URC could easily KILL Logitech and other remote vendors with a better business model. They have great products.
URC could easily kill their own business by letting everything out into the wild. Nothing gives a control system a bad rap like one that doesn't work, and one that doesn't work could be truly a piece of shit or it could be programmed incorrectly. URC makes good remotes and trains their dealers to program them well. Are you going to bitch about Elan not letting you do your own G! installation and programming too?
For those of you who believe in URCs model, simply DON'T ANSWER A POST as opposed to referring to manuals/files which are unavailable to consumers. One of the great advantages of the web and forums is for people to HELP EACH OTHER.
If you read the other posts in this forum many of them are about help. The ones asking for software are closed because this isn't a forum for configuration software.
