I hear you. I am just looking for potential alternatives. I have been seeing numerous Extron power supply issues on several jobs as they reach the 8+ year mark. I realize that 8+ years is a lifetime in the world of electronics but if these power supplies are taking down the modules at $500 a pop my question has to be... are these REALLY well designed power supplies? They are small transformers made in china like the rest of them so who is to say what they actual quality is. It is also a bit mystifying why component extenders should be more expensive than most HDMI extenders with the same feature set (the perspective being driven by my client).
