We finally have a near 50 degree day in Chicago. My wife and I just changed every outside bulb and I put new wipers and a new headlight in her Sorento.... I think "working on your own system" only constitutes the following: A/V gear, lighting control, TSTATs and any wiring that connects or controls those systems. If your fridge had a network port and the status / feedback can be viewed on a touch panel / remote, that could be a candidate.
