Was working fine yesterday. I've programmed it trying to fix variables and punch-through. But it functioned fine. Come from work today and the remote is not responding (and the screen is constantly on and doesn't go to sleep). I suspect cleaning lady sprayed it with windex or something like that but otherwise it's undamaged. I can press main + enter and it goes into system menu. The screen is unresponsive but it reacts to buttons there. I've tried factory reset but the same thing is happening. Almost seems like the screen shorted somewhere - not sure if it's even possible. Either that or got bricked by the software or firmware. Called URC and they weren't helpful. Offered to replace out of warranty for $419. If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.
I've personally now had 3 trc-1280 remotes brick randomly in different ways. I realize this remote is based on the mx-5000. Once it's bricked, you only way to fix it is to TCT (rma) the item.
With regards to the MX-1200. I am trying to remember. I thought there was a button sequence to get into the boot loader. This probably won't help you if it's a dead screen issue.
