What kind of wiring do you have at the projo location?
If you got 6years out of the MX3000, then you got lucky. Touch screens with rechargeable batteries? That's a double helping of things likely to break down. I expect to do a near full replacement of most a/v gear every 5 years or so. Do you have another mx3000 handy to test your theory.
I had thought the MX3000 had three IR blasters on the front. Based on its each, it is highly possible it just doesn't have the punch it needs anymore. Hell, URC only gives you a year warranty.
