That exactly what the Ultimate is designed for. I have two, one setup is controlling a TV mounted on a wall, by IR, and 3 devices in a closed cabinet via RF converted to IR. The second setup controlls a TV via IR, and other devices in a media room, 20' away from the TV. I was also a beta tester for the ultimate.
