Another question

From the Harmony website

"Harmony Hub turns RF signals from the remote control into IR and Bluetooth® commands your home theater devices can understand...."

Does this mean that the IR blasters are not "required"?

I understand that without the hub, the remote control will not control IR devices in my (not enclosed) component shelf. But...I really do not have a need for the IR blasters. Are they "required" contacted in order to get the IR out of the hub?

EDIT:

After a further research, I found this review:
[Link: tuaw.com]

"If there's anything that needs to improve, it's the description of when to use or not use the IR blaster. The entire Harmony Hub is an IR blaster and works well even on a shelf below the TV; I wasn't really sure if I'll ever need to use the separate IR blaster. In fact, Logitech may have gone a bit too far in trying to do away with documentation of this product."
