If you are using a base unit (MRF) or processor (MRX, MSC) and address the emitters properly while setting the signal type to RF only you do not have to worry about overlapping signals, cross-talk or any other issues. You definitely do not have to block the emitters or shield them. (Just be sure to put them in the correct place).
