It didn't work.
What did I do?
I installed Classicshell.
I installed ProntoProEdit NG (latest version).
I tried to run the Pronto program (without an Pronto Remote Control - via USB - installed).
The start screen opens then the program stops (without showing anything).
I'll tried several times to run the Pronto program in a compatibility mode (Windows XP (Service Pack 3); it didn't run.
I'll get the message: The file seems corrupt or damaged and ProntoProEdit NG cannot open it.

So I wonder what you did/do different.

It would be nice if you could write it a bit more extensive.

e.g. I can't switch easily between the W8 and the W7-classics shell screen, but got the impression you can; you even wrote that there are others options as well; I can't see them, either.
