otherwise, there is no point of wasting so much time on rs-232 if you have all the discrete ir commands...
There is no feedback. The only benefit is no IR blaster on the front. If all you need is power on and off and don't want to open the TV to ember IR or dont' have the bluetooth area then I can see the point. Or if you want to use IP and need a way to turn it on.
