With RTI--- I just used a general purpose 1/8th tip ring sleeve pig tail for the EX end crimping the 3 conductors on to 3 conductors of a cat 5 cable (blue, grn, brn/wht) . If you are using method B for your cat 5 termination blue is ground, Brn/Wht is receive and green is the transmit. You need to do this in a null modem. so receive goes to transmit and transmit goes to receive. This means that brn/white goes to the sleeve and green goes to the tip. Ground is shield.
Unless you are just doing power on / off, there is no point to using serial with the smart TV's as the most important commands are missing such as;
