Should Tapcons go into brick, or the mortar? Most commonly, I see them in the mortar. I've only used them in poured concrete, no trouble if the hole is hammer drilled much deeper than the depthof the screw. Trouble, if not deep enough.

Ive been taught that tapcons go into the morter only if its newer mortor since its harder then the brick, But redheads always go into the brick!
