That is the simplest way to do it, as they've put together an entire package.
I once did about the same thing by taking apart a Radio Shack antenna A/B switch and wiring directly to the relay inside... very effective but kinda amateurish. And has wires hanging loose looking unprofessional. Get the Xantech.
I don't think your URC programs through a computer, though, so you'l have to borrow the Xantech remote itself, not just codes for a computer, and teach the codes to your URC.
