There's no problem in running the MX-3000 editor under Windows 7. I've been doing it since Windows 7 came out (the same issue applies to Windows Vista). The issue is Vista and 7 don't include Active Sync. There's an easy workaround which is to install Windows Mobile Device Center. Instructions for installing this, and setting up the proper driver, and widely available. Do a bit of searching on this site and you should have no problem.
