He already has in his possession the only way to program it, the standalone editor. So unless you're going to step WAY up and send him your XP laptop he should refer back to post 2 :-)
Sorry for the bad news but that remote is definitely long in the tooth.
Other option? Can you install the editor and run it in XP compatibility mode on your Win7 machine?
