I believe your problem is different. Bdkjose was talking about using the "set IR" button, not learning IR in TSE from another remote.

Learning should be accomplished on the remote itself, not through the software while attached to the computer. Learning on the computer has been shown to introduce timing errors and lead to corrupt codes. There are many old threads that discuss this. The "best" approach is to learn on the remote and then upload to the computer.

On a more positive note - Tonto is a much superior program IMHO.
