You should restart your machine AFTER installing, but
before using the program. Still, I'm not sure that will
help you. Try a different ccf (download one from the
files area) to see if this behavior is peculiar to your
ccf. Additionally, I seem to remember that problems can
occur if the IR code (action on your button) doesn't have
a name. You might try naming the code if it doesn't have
one already.
