I am using the Prolitic USB-to-Serial Com Port (ebay special?). Windows 7 recognized the converter OK and the dirver install seemed to come off without a hitch. The install set it up on COM 3. I ordered a different converter a few day ago, but haven't received it yet. I don't really expect the new one to behave much different however. It just seems that BDcSuite is more limited than the keypad editors when trying to set up the serial interface? It either seems to find it automatically, as happens with my Windows XP based computer with standard serial I/O, but the auto detect mode doesn't get it connected in the
Windows 7 based system and I don't seem to have any options to find out what is going on? As I also mentioned in my previous post, the keypad editors interface and work OK through the USB-to-Serial port.
