I seem to remember having issues copying and pasting to the ON button. Now I create the macro on the ON button and for the CABLE macro, I just create a macro with the MAIN POWER ON button as the only alias.

This is what I would suggest. It makes no sense to copy a macro to another button...just alias that button to the original macro. That way, if you ever need to edit the macro, you don't have to edit other buttons/macros.
Also check you "punch through".
