I emailed Peter about that sat/sub and here's what he had to say:

"I believe he was referring to the Pattern Model 100. It was a sub /sat that was totally powered. It had a resemblance to the Bose AM-5 except that ours were tooled ABS not mdf. The powered woofer also drove the sats. Bose threatened to sue us but realized they could not win because ours was totally different. This system was historic in that it was the precursor to every multi-media speaker system for PC's. My partner at the time Tommy Friedman, went on to use that basic design in Altec Lansing's computer speakers. The rest is history.

A few months later we brought out the Pattern Model 200 which was the world's first HTIB (home theater in a box) It consisted of 5 pattern 100 SATs, a miniaturized pro-logic decode, a powered sub with all the channels of amplification, a color coded uni-cable for ease of connection, and a remote control. We sold thousands of them.

The large Japanese companies eventually overwhelmed us with their enormous economies of scale. But at the time it was fun. As a friend reminded me "Every pioneer occasionally gets an arrow in his back" It goes with the territory.

So with that experience, we probably are crazy enough to innovate again. Dawn at CEDIA you heard our next venture: Our H-PAS sound bar that for most customers will not require a subwoofer.( Performance down to the mid 40's without a sub). You heard it at CEDIA. Now the big boys are calling to inquire about licensing the technology. I guess we will never learn."
