Same here. At one point with the .1 series, we were at about a 50% fail rate. They gave us the same nonsense about not supporting longer HDMI, but even at 3 foot HDMI they weren't working. Send them in, week later unit back with new HDMI board. Never had the same unit fail twice interestingly enough.
It is a pain shipping it back though as they are heavy and expensive to ship.
