ok, so I emailed RTI, they replied quickly and recommended that I call their tech support line.

I called their customer service, the rep I spoke with on the phone was totally unhelpful and actually told me buy a new $50 charger when the reality of it is that the part probably costs them around $10 to make. If they wanted to prevent me from posting negative feedback on AV forums/reviews they would have simply sent the part to me. They have created a MONSTER!

I told them that I was VERY unsatisfied. And that I would post on any AV message forum that I come across to not purchase RTI products and to try Logitech, control4, universal etc. I asked to speak with his supervisor and the customer service rep told me that his supervisor had heard the complaint before. He said that I have two options 1) buy a new charger 2) send in my charger for a repair estimate. (WHAT A JOKE)

My advice is to not purchase RTI and look elsewhere, unless you want to deal with terrible customer service (because all they offer is a 90 day warranty) or having to jerry rig your remotes charging base.
