to further that. you could mount the din8 in a plastic panel at the location the irrigation company would have used anyway. that way you are not freaking them out by making them do something they normally dont do. does the din 8 have buttons on it to manually trigger the relays? if so that would aid in the servicibility for the irrigation company. if not you could put an 8 button keypad near control box for manual calling of each zone, which isnt that bad of an idea for home owner either to overide schedule.

Yes the Din-8SW8 has manual buttons to trigger each relay with an LED to indicate that its state.

We use a can specifically for the irrigation system with the AP2 and the DIN-8SW8's located within.

The only reason we include the schedule is so that each valve is being used on a regular basis so that it doesn't seize up and water doesn't sit in one line for a long period of time. If I remember properly we have each valve run for 9 minutes. Since we can only have 1 valve on at a time this gives us 1 minute grace for the valve to close as they are not fast acting.
