For irrigation we use a DIN-8SW8 combined with the Din AP2. Wire each output of the 8SW8 to each valve of the irrigation system allowing for ON/OFF and can also create schedules and timers programming in D3. Now depending on the irrigation system you may only be able to use 1 valve at a time (which is our scenario) but we have a schedule for the 48 valves to run throughout the night to ensure they are working. Throughout the day the owner can control each valve from the GUI's and we haven't had any problems with the system. Although there is quite a bit of programming the first time it is worth it if you will be doing this over and over again.

that is actually a much better scenario. i did this years ago with HAI and there 8-relay modules. now with the DIN-8SW8 i wouldnt think about doing it any other way. remember almost every irrigation system i have ever done has the master solenoid to energize the system, and then you can call the solenoid for each zone. ask the irrigation company for help with timing the solenoids and in between zones. you might want to offer them a nominal fee for there time consulting with you for a succesful project. it will give them a better feeling about dealing with you for the control of their system vs the standard rainbird etc controller that they are loosing their profit on not selling.
I love supporting product that supports me!
