The VP14 will work great for your application. I have one connected to two serial ports of a HAI Lumina Pro, then to the serial connection of a Xantech MRC88m(only one left). Port 2 on the Lumina is configured with HAI's Xantech "Driver". The problem was, the port wouldn't allow other serial string to pass thru, just the basic Xantech commands. I set port 3 on the Lumina to "Pro-link", so I can send strings for Tuner Presets, etc. from Omni 10p Touchscreens.
