I personally for some reason could not get PENG (for a Philips RU950.TSU3000) working on Win7 x32. Didn't want to upgrade to Pro or ultimate just for my remote, i'd rather have dual booted TBH. There should in theory be better support for old apps in W7 than Vista yet Vista worked perfectly after setting compatibility mode to XP on the installer and W7 PENG just froze after starting the app.
My solution to this problem was to use VMWare Player, its free but you do need a copy of XP and a valid key. I just find its a lot easier than rebooting, plus Unity mode in VMWare allows Pronto Edit to act as a native app.
I could not get VMWare's device manager to recognize my RC9500 over the USB port, even with the RC9500 installed within VMWare.
