using rg6 cable mount the phillips splitter close to both antennas connected to it with exactly the same length of cable about 1 meter,then install rg6 going to the tv-converter box....use waterproof coax seal on the connections if you put it up on the tower or roof or chimney mounted....try pointing the antennas toward lakeshore to test....i would use a rotor but you could try pointing 1- 4 bay at toronto and the other 4bay to buffalo-hamilton direction to test it.............about the mini state antenna......it has a preamp built in and a rotor and those wires you see are for a control with a knob that turns the rotor and very simple 1 element antenna inside the ministate and power is fed into it using a coax adaptor i think......i know a guy in markham who has one of those on his chimney on a 10ft pipe it picks up most of the dtv channels including ch11 and cts and buffalo
