I've tested the length of 14.5m of ethernet CAT3 cable with RFX9400 and works fine.
There is one thing, the IR emiters on cable supplied with extender are connected serially, so if you extend for 5m both emiters then the total length is 10m plus 2.5m of original cable.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
