As a remote, I would say the 900. As a value for dollar, the Xsight.

I mean looking at Amazon prices you are comparing a $235 remote with a $70 remote.

I'm between buying an Harmony 700 or a Xsight Touch/Nevo C3 -if I undestood it correctly they are the same remote-.

The only missing data I need to make my decision is: Xsight can only be configured online with a Windows machine? It sounds totally weird and I want to be sure I didn't misunderstood something. If I can't configure it offline, I will go for the Harmony, if I can configure the Xsight offline I will go for it.

Thanks for reading and sorry for my bad english.

Since when has Harmony been programmable offline...?

The downloadable software need an internet connection to program the remotes? Seriously? I can't figure the reason to need to be online to program a remote...

Both of these remotes require online programming.

The Xsight has an extremely simplistic onboard setup (and I mean simplistic to the point that you CANNOT configure the remote adequately that way). Somewhat annoyingly, you must actually use both onboard and online programming to fully set up the X-sight.

Thanks for the info. I'm finally buying one of those Monster remotes that Amazon is liquidating. Probably it is overkill for my needs but seems an intrleresting device to play with/hack.

Which one? If it's the vertical remote with the screen at the top... those are rebadged Harmonys and program using exactly the same online process.

Yeah, one of those AVL300-S with the RF Extender. If both Harmony and Xsight are using online programming, well, I'm f#[email protected] anyway, so I will take the one that show more bang per buck.

And anyway, the seller just cancelled my order an no other seller seems to ship to Spain to a reasonable price, so it seems we are back to square one...
