I am reasonably familiar with universal remotes, macros, etc. and have owned a harmony (several years ago). I have a situation where my main TV watching area is controlled with my Dish TV2 remote (6.0 remote) which utilizes UHF to communicate with the DVR downstairs.
I am looking for help selecting a remote that could communicate with both RF and UHF - such that the remote will control the TV, amplifier, DVD, etc upstairs, but ALSO be able to control the DVR downstairs via UHF.
Help?!

You can get a RF universal, but you will have to get two base stations, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. There is no universal "RF" remote, just universal "IR" remotes that have RF capabilities with their own base stations. I would recomend looking into URC, they have a wide range to choose from.
