OK here is my setup

PS3
HD Cable Box (mediacom cable motorola HD box)
Seagate FAT+

OK so the equipment was moved out of the living room into a nearby closet to clean up the looks of it all. The PS3 is primarily a dvd/blu ray player, the other two are exactly what they are designed for cable and streaming media. Anyway what i'm stuck on is what one remote setup out there could i use to control all 3? I know the ps3 is bluetooth and the other two are IR so that is where i'm hitting a hump really. Any help on suggestions for this setup would be greatly appreciated as i'm kinda stuck.

thanks

I'm afraid I've no experience of your cable box or media player so I can't really comment. For the PS3 though, you'll need something like one of these.

the cable box and media player are both generic IR adapters, so i guess the biggest thing besides the bluetooth what rf control to get for a remote that is in the other room?
