Narrowed my choice down to these two. Both have pros and cons. Help me choose.
TV: Samsung UN46B6000 Blue Ray: Samsung BD-P1600 Sat Receiver: Dish VIP722k DVR Tuner/Receiver: Yamaha RX-V465
Thanks,
R/L

When do you plan on buying your next remote? Nissan Vs Toyota.
Actually, the 700 may be easier to program since it's done online, but you could experience some issues with it's operation since it's IR. Based on your equipment list, I would venture to say there aren't a lot of discrete power or input commands, so the harmony may be better in tracking the state of the devices.
The R50 has codes resident in the remote, and can learn codes, but you'll have to build your activity macros yourself. Some people prefer that.
Long term, the R50 will most likely hold up better, but by then you may be looking for a RF remote.

Thanks Joe. Just the kind of input I was hoping for.
Curious about your comment on RF capabiltiy. The only component that I have that has RF input support is the Dish Network receiver. What advantage is RF besides being able to go through walls? I assume that for the other components, I'd need an RF base that would blast IR to the other components.
Just as a point of reference, I had a Sony RM-AV3000 that gave up a little over a year ago. It took a lot of work to get programed, but once I had it set up, it really worked well. I even had all of the functions of my tuner (then a JVC) on it. I never touched another remote after that.
I do like the tracking of state of devices on the Harmony.
I plan to make a purchase soon.

RF is just going to cost you more, since you'll need to get a RF capable remote and a RF base station to convert the RF to IR. The fact that your SAT has RF really doesn't matter as nobodies universal remote will natively control your Dish via RF. The big advantage of RF is as you know, the ability to go thru wall (floors, doors, cabinets, ect.) but another advantage has to do with sending macros. With IR, you have to point the remote at all your gear for the entire duration of a macro to insure every code hits. With RF you can push a button and set it down, with assurance the macro will fire correctly to all components.
