I spend a lot of time traveling and often the motel TV remote doesn't work properly. Is there a simple universal remote that I can buy that will be very easy to program and use on different motel TV's?

Been there, done that. I always kick myself when I forget to bring a remote and the hotel's has dead batteries, or worn out button contacts, or is just plain missing. The little URC keychain remote works well for this purpose.
