I have a Harmony 550 and while I don't love the buttons, I love the concept! But, this is for someone else who needs something cheap to control the following components:

Comcast DVR (Scientific Atlanta RNG200)
Sony receiver (STR-DN1000)
Sony TV (46S5100)

The remote that came with the receiver would be perfect IF I could get it to control the Comcast box. It's supposed to do that, but no amount of trying made it work!

In addition to the Harmony 550, I also have several inexpensive URC remotes and they have always worked great, but they have limitations - no learning function (how necessary is this for the components I want to control? And possibly add a blu-ray player or at least a DVD player) and the ones I've had were not backlit. Here's a link to a newer version - any comments on this one?

Edmund, I'll pass along the info. You helped me years ago when I was "prepping" a URC remote with advanced codes. So, thanks again!!
