Hello remotecentral users,

I am in a bind, and could use your expertise. I need to replace a missing remote for an InFocus LP570 projector. The OEM remote is 590-0095-xx, but this is such an old unit that the remotes are hard to find. I do have a search set-up on eBay, but I would like to explore the option of the programmable remote.

The 12 IR codes are found on this site:

What would be my cheapest option to handle these functions? And would I simply copy the HEX codes to my PC & dump them back to the new remote?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Dave

Well, the cheapest programmable remote that can take Pronto hex codes would work (although I should caution you that there is no guarantee that those specific codes will work - however with a computer programmable remote you'll have a huge chance of finding them somewhere).

Cheapest would probably be an old Pronto, or a older URC MX-700 or higher. Also a cheap Harmony should work (but you'll have to trust that the database will have a functional codeset).

Most of the remotes made by Universal Electronics have a setup code which can be made to work. These include Radio Shack (15-133,134,135), most Comcast remotes, some DirecTVs, some Vizio remotes, and Atlas.

The Radio Shack remotes are easily bought new and cost $20-$30.

The setup code which can be made to work is Audio 0531. For newer remotes which take a 5 digit setup code, 30531 instead.

Once the setup code is entered, the volume up and down keys should work immediately. Other functions will require you to carry out a one-time "keymove" sequence to map the desired function onto the key of your choosing. (Probably some of the other functions will be triggered by pressing one of the numeral keys, but that isn't a very desireable setup.)

The keymove involves assigning a "Extended Function Code" to the desired key. If you get a UEI remote, and find that Vol up and down work with setup code 0531, I'll write out how to make the keymoves.

The needed EFCs are:
vol up 145
vol down 141
mute 207
power 082
enter 209
mic 204
freeze/esc 210
menu 206
up arrow 205
down arrow 080
lite show 078
prog 077
