Hi everyone.
I am newbie here and this is my first post, so I'm a little unsure if I placed it correctly.
Anyway, my challenge that I hope to get some good advice is as follows:
I have a Linn DS music streamer that I can control from PC or different apps on mobile phones and tablets .
The streamer has a built in volume control, this can be disabled if connected to a preamp from Linn. Then volume sigal is sent from streamer to the preamp with RS232 codes via a cable with RJ11 connectors, then the volume control in preamp will be the one that is active instead.
I have connected to a preamp of a different manufacturer that can only be controlled by remote control with standard Philips RC5 codes.
Is there a way to send this RS232 codes to a device that converts them to the standard Philips RC5 remote control codes?
I believe the now discounted Redeye Pro could do it, but I was hoping for something much simpler since only the volume signal is required .
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Best from Paul
