Im new here so if im posting in the wrong place, please let me know.

I have a GC-100 and a GC-IRE. I am trying to control my home theater with this equipment via an app on an android tablet. Im currently stuck trying to get the gc100 to pick up any data. First I started using the GC100 with the GC-IRE in serial 1 with iLearn. No matter what I try, I keep getting "No Device Found". I am able to ping the unit and can surf to its internal web page.

After fighting with this for hours, I gave up and connected the GC-IRE to a USB to serial adapter. This time iLearn was able to find the device and talk to it but it would not pick up any IR data. I do not know if the IR receiver I am using is correct for the IRE, it came from parts express with one of there IR repeaters (the receiver is tested working).

So this is where I am: I am sitting on some expensive equipment that is not working and driving me nuts. My goal is to use my android tablet as a remote control to my home theater. Am I going about this all wrong?

I have a GC-100 with a IRL, Not sure you can use I learn with the IRE, I don't see it in the option.
here is how I do: I plug the IRL on the serial port of the GC-100 and ethernet cable BEFORE I connect the power (otherwise it is not working).
In Ilearn:
-option ir learner: CG-IRL on GC-100
- enter the IP adress of your devide ( there is a free program on their site to find it if you don't know how).
- module has to be set on 1 always
- then press connect and it should work.

maybe with IRE you need another programm, I don't know.

Ive got the IRL working via serial port on my computer and am able to capture and save codes. Using itest, I can send codes that work to my TV and the proper thing happens.

Still cannot get the IRL to work in either of the serial ports on my GC 100. Ive tried having it plugged into the port then powering up but it does not work. I configure the IR learner for GC-IRL on GC-100, click connect, and ~5 sec later, it says no device found. Any ideas?
