I am looking for RS-232 commands for the Yamaha RX-V3900/RX-V7 receiver. Yamaha has changed their RS232 command protocol for these receivers so the old commands don't work.

Yamaha released a spreadsheet that details the commands and has a tool for building them but the tool is broken in the older release (which I have). I am hoping that someone has the updated spreadsheet with the working command tool.

Thanks!

What is the date of the spreadsheet file you have?

Thanks guys for the replies. gopronto I will pm you as I would like to get a copy of your file. I am using firmware 1.07.

hdtvluvr, the excel spreadsheet that I have is version 1.0 from August 22nd, 2008. It has a "compile error in hidden module 1" error that pops up every im you open it. Because of this the command builder function doesn't work. I read in another post here that Yamaha fixed the issue in a later release of the file but I haven't been able to locate it.

Thanks!

I can't figure out why Yamaha advertises serial control as a feature and then makes it so darn hard to find the protocol docs.

I have the most important commands working now, only with the tuner presets i have some troubles...

Found the commands here:
[Link: awe-europe.com]

First command i tryed was:

0,1,*,PUT,Tuner(Preset(Preset_Sel=A1)),*\x0D\x0A

than i did some variations on it, nothing worked.

Does somebody has an example code ??
