Anyone doing DirecTV IP Control/Integration using DirecTV SHEF? I have IP control working on an H21/100 and I also have the SHEF datasheet from DirecTV.

Over at dbstalk in the cutting edge forum (a hidden forum, registration required), there is a lot of discussion of this. One user already put together an app that works on a window computer. |

can someone send me the link or the command set. I have a HR21 HR22 H23 2 H10 D10 and D15.. Would love to see what can be done. nevermind

I have one-way IP control working on iphone and ipad using iRule. Irule has not yet implemented two way control. I also have one-way IP control working on Android using OpenRemote. User gottahavit at dbstalk posted apps for windows mobile and android, but I haven't tried these. User Fiasco at dbstalk has a two-way demo using commandfusion on ipad. Recordings stored on the DVR can be displayed on the ipad. |

I am not aware of any published information regarding control of an HR2x via IP. There is a published standard for control via RS232 serial (and you can do that on an HR with a USB to serial adapter). So it is certainly possible to set up an external "translator" pc that takes input via network and sends commands out via serial data.
