Does any one know if the X10 house code can be changed? If it can, can you have multiple hose codes copied to different buttons?

What are you trying to control with the remote? If you are using an IR-543 than that house code is only adjustable on the unit, if you are using an IR-543AH than yes it can

It uses proprietary codes and requires a programmable remote. I don't think there are any remotes that come with preprogrammed codes for the IR543-AH. The IR543AH will respond to IR543 codes and that's probably what you are seeing.
