I have a 2way light module and the ir543 infared transceiver hooked up to a floor lamp. I used the preset for x10 (2005 I believe) and I can turn the light on and off using the AV3000. But there is no preset for brighten/dim on the remote. The ir543 has a brighten and dim buttons, and I know there are other x10 remotes that have this. Is there anyway to get my AV3000 to brighten/dim without having to buy a remote just to capture the codes?

If not what is the cheapest IR remote that I can buy for the purpose of capturing the brighten/dim codes?

Did you try the Volume and Channel controls?

yes I used the channel buttons, and it does brighten/dim, but it takes forever to go from 100% to 25%, much slower then pressing the brighten/dim button directly on the ir543.

You could create a Macro or use something like Activehome & CM11A.
