I took over a system that has a 2 processors an xp8 in the main house and an xp6 in the cabana originally each processor had its own build customer now wants to have everything controlled from his iPad and the cabana be able to control the pool that is connected through the xp8. Issue I’m having is when I add the xp6 as an expansion device witch id11 sees it and lets me add it with no issues but when I program the remote it will not control anything on the xp6. Setup is xp8 with a zm24 and xp6 with a zm24.

Are they both on the same network? Are the ZM-24s within range of each other for communication? Are there any handhelds or keypads in the system? Do both XP units have the latest firmware? When you uploaded the latest program, did you send to both processors?

Last thing, can you please use more punctuation in your answers? It makes it soo much easier to understand what you are trying to get across.

Sorry will use more punctuation.

Both are on the same network. There are 2 2ti handled and 2 iPads. Everything is updated to the latest firmware. When I first tried it would should show both processors and updated both, when I went to start all over again software only shows xp8. But the xp6 shows under the expansion. Zm24 probably not in range but one is hardwired to xp8 and other is hardwired to xp6. The xp6 is probably about 150ft away from xp8 in a detached cabana house.

As a test I brought both zm24 antennas closer about 50 ft away. If I’m closer to the xp8 antenna it will work, but if I get closer to the xb6 one it will not work.

Is that using the iPad or with the handhelds?

I've had a few ZM-24 failures.

When you are in range of the XP6 with the handheld, does it still not control anything on the XP6? Will it control items on the XP8 from the same location?

Before you added the XP6 to the XP8, were they in separate files?
If so, when you brought it over, did you re-add the programming of the local devices to the XP6?

Tracking this as one thing I am unclear about is the zigbee communication when a processor is configured as an extension device...

Is the zigbee receiver on the extender processor utilized or disabled? If disabled, this is a cumbersome way to utilize multiple processors as I would think ZM24 units would be required in addition to the processors and if the areas are some distance apart, that could impact system performance having to hop multiple times.

I would like to know why you can't just have multiple processors... I have done this many times in the past with no issues until ID 9.

You can have multiple processors, but can only have one set up as main, all the others have to be secondary ones.
