Would be cool if we could maintain a tech note per device among the indusry like the megalist. I often see a lot of repeat questions including asking some myself, would be great to have a resource where we could maintain this stuff.

For example:
Type Brand Mod Disc. Pwr Disc. Input Notes/Workaround
----- ------- ----- ---------- ---------- -------------------
Blu-ray Samsung BDP2500 On Only N/A Off: On, 3s dly; pwr
Project SIM2 C3x On Only Yes Input turns on proj
LCD TV Sony XBR3-7 Yes Yes dly 7s on power up

etc, etc. Of course these notes will only apply to IR in most cases as RS-232 is an entirely other world of options...Would be nice to refer people to mega-notes for the more common devices...

Daniel, is it just too hard to implement tabs on the site?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Tabs - like you hit Tab and it indents your text instead of switching "focus" from the text window to "Favorite Options" to "Advanced" to "Post Response" to "Preview" etc.

Tabs are a word processing thing, and aren't supported by HTML markup - for example I can add them at a code level, and they are completely ignored. Technically that sort of formatting is what "tables" are for, but tables aren't a good idea for use with forum posts.

Easiest thing to do is hard-format the spaces with a non-proportional font. You could switch to the ADVANCED editor, select the COMPUTER CODE style, and then spaces will be maintained.

For example:

One Two Three Four
------ ------ ------ ------
Yes X 50 No
No - 3 Yes

Yeah, every time I get frustrated by not being able to tab I just think that it's probably not possible inside a web browser.......
