Hi,

I have an older RTI system (original T2) with the RF base, from back when RTI provided the 'Theatertouch' software to all customers, not just dealers.

So just to be clear, I am NOT a dealer, but I am legally using an older copy of the software, with older equipment. The closest dealer to me is more than 4 hours travel each way.

I am trying to set up my system to work with my Sony VPL-VW60 'Black Pearl' projector. I can do this no trouble with IR, but the only way with this particular piece of equipment to access discrete codes for power and anamorphic mode (definitely required) is via RS-232.

I have the RTI RS-232 cable, and I know how / where to insert the codes in the software.

So, here is my question...

I am a total newbie when it comes to RS-232. I have looked into it a bit, and while I have no doubt I could learn how to program with it, the learning curve is steep for something I will probably not use again when I really only need a couple of codes for my projector.

I have downloaded the Sony document that provides the RS-232 details for the projector, but it is 'Greek' to me.

If anyone out there can help me with this, I would be REALLY appreciative...all I need is the specific RS-232 codes for the VPL-VW-60 for:

Power on
Power Off (standby)
Anamorphic Mode
Normal Mode

If you can help, please just give me the exact string of characters I need to type into the 'RS-232 string' window in the software for each of these commands, and tell me if I need to select the 'Hex' button or not...the rest of the settings I can figure out.

I am hoping somebody out there has set up one of these projectors with RS-232 and can simply share the codes with me...

Thanks so much for your attention!

Cheers,

Doug

If you could share the document we might be able to help more. Try these, they're for the VPL-VW100, enter them in "Hex" mode:

Power On:
A9 17 2E 00 00 00 3F 9A

Power Off:
A9 17 2F 00 00 00 3F 9A

Update:
I found a copy of the doc...

Wide Mode Normal:
A9 00 20 00 00 01 21 9A

Wide Mode Anamorphic:
A9 00 20 00 00 0B 2B 9A

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
