Hi Guys,
I am programming a system at the moment which includes an RK-2, CPB-1 and a Kramer VS-88HC.
I cannot get any RS-232 commands to work on the switcher.
The Kramer unit ships with a null modem adapter, and nothing works with or without.
The ID RS-232 codes are exactly the same as the ones the Kramer software emulator spits out, so I dont think this is the problem.
I have tried with 2xCPB-1 and RS-232 cables.

Any ideas?

Wireless speakers? Of course Sir. Choose the colour and size you like. As you don't seem to think sound quality is important, I will not plug them in.

give me an example of the string you are sending to the switcher. have you read the protocol doc? these are the most straight forward of products to control. use the null modem.

Hi Old Grumpy!
Example of string is 01 81 81 81 This is for input 1 to output 1
01 83 83 81 is for input 3, out 3.
The baud rate is 9600,, parity none, stop bit 1.
I have tried adding some delay between characters, but nothing seems to work.

that all looks fine.
no delay is needed between characters.
dont copy and paste the codes. type them into the boxes manually, ensure you dont get any extra spaces.
use null modem adaptor.

other than, that, ensure that you have the latest firmware on the RK-2 (the one that supports the CPB-1).

if still stuck the problem must be somewhere else in the config.

i could email you my 232 device library for this, but that does not sound like your problem
