They just showed a Cat5e Component/stereo/digi audio powered balun, pretty cool.

It will plug into the back end of their new video switcher, so no need for baluns at the head end. Similar to B&K.

Oooooooh. I get it. I didn't realize their switcher was Cat5 output. I guess I never saw a drawing of the back.

I think the fronts and backs are on the spec sheets on the dealer site.

They said the A/V stuff "should" be ouot at the end of summer, and that the 2-way "should" be available in a few weeks.

BA HUMBUG. Okay we get it. "2 weeks" Ha ha ha, everyone laughs and gets pissed at the same time.

Seriously, is it possible to have an RTI thread that actually talks about the new products? Because whether you agree that they should be making them or not, guess what...THEY ARE! So might as well talk about it. And someday, hopefully in a not to distant future, we can actually try these products and then maybe have something new to bag on them about.

I'm sure RTI would rather have people making the "2 weeks" comment than, "Oh they're just another C4 that put out a crap product before it was ready." Leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth like C4 has to many people. NO, don't start talking about how C4 has changed, that wasn't the point, there's no need to bring it up.

Now, if RTI does end up putting out crap product that 'still' isn't ready after ALL this delay, well then, get out your RTI rain suits, cuz Sh!T talk is gonna be flying.

Since when 2 way comes out, it will be module driven, with the modules beinging written by RTI, and only for the AVAD distributed products at first, with no ETA on the release of additional modules, and with no way to custom write your own code and make 2 way work with the products that you actually intergate, i'd pretty much call that "still isn't ready"

As far as the home audio gear goes, if it's anything like the remotes reliability-wise there is no way in hell I would put on in my rack, I don't feel like swapping my matrix every few months because it locks up for no apparent reason, not to mention the new exchange and repair policies... Thank god it doesn't have a battery at least.
Hey, thats a nice plasma, you can put that in the back of my truck...

you know what i agree with Corey.

(steps on soapbox)

shut up already, so you had a few batteries tht didn't last as long as they should have. so what they are a little slow in releasing new stuff. so what that you wouldn't use it. i will. in a heartbeat. so take your midol. drink a beer. and shut up. i have not seen a company that has better software or better looking remotes that work. most crestron guys i have talked to are using rti on their systems with the crestron processor. that is some distinguished company there. i love their support and attention to the needs and even the wants of the "proffesional community of whiners" that we are all a part of. so you had one crap out on a saturday, during football season and you missed the college upset of the week. what about all the ones that i ( and yes many others too) that are working flawlessly. according to my numbers i have about a 3% fail rate. i'll take that with the support i have gotten any day over a clunky URC or a difficult to program Pronto ( yes i do those too).

so once again, enough with the bashing. some of use are on the RTI forum to learn and help with RTI, not to pout and whine about the world not being perfect.

(steps down from soapbox)

have a great evening

Every T3 I have used with a Crestron system has had to been swapped out. Wonderful company to be apart of...
