RTI and their affiliates are bound for bankruptcy in this
economic environment if they cater only to the rich.
Not many people are gonna spend $500 to program a basic
remote control. RIP RTI -- you had a nice run ripping
people off.

You should choose your words carefully. If you can not afford or choose not to pay for a product/service doesn’t mean that it is not legitimate. I take offense to the term rip off. It basically implies that RTI and their dealers are maliciously trying to defraud any consumer with bogus product and services. You could not be further from the truth. I get it; you do not see value in our product or services. I run into this occasionally and I generally do not take offence, but when you use that term it makes me mad. I pride myself on the level of service and commitment that I provide to my clients. I’m confident that our attention to detail is something that big box can only aspire to. To do so would require an increase in their cost structure which would be apparent in the final consumer price… Would you call them a rip off as well at that point? Regardless, move on and find a product that will fit your budget with consumer level servicing. There are a couple options out there.
I'll let you know tomorrow..

I offered via email to program his remote. Of course I'll have to charge!

I haven't heard from that other guy or those other guys. But RTI and URC had too many headaches, and we lost too much decent business, when their software and products were all available to the crowd who would then jam their call centers with "how do you....?"
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Why are you even asking for help when it such a basic remote.

What is it with people like you.You get a free remote and still complain!

Do you not have job?Does your employer not charge for his services?Do you not get paid for your work?Would you work for nothing?

Meatpost you are a DICK!

Jason, you may now lighten up. Seriously. And muchly.

He's asking for help because he needs software or an installer to program it. He doesn't want an installer, he's not one so he can't get the software. Them's grounds for whining!

If I got a free remote and couldn't program it, I'd bitch for a while, then use it as a doorstop. A T2+ would make a pretty good doorstop if you shave it down on one end so it will wedge under the door.

Bitching and whining can be tolerated; making derogatory statements about business practices and products can not!

You do have a point. Look at what has happened to Crestron since they won't give just anyone their software. Their business is tanking almost as bad as our economy. What's worse is that they charge way more then $500 to program a basic remote control. Hah they are bound for bankruptcy.

On second thought Meatpost you are a meathead and obviously are just some cheap ass who doesn't want to pay for something that you "got from a friend for free". So who did you steal it from? Or are you a trunk slammer that told a client it was a piece of junk and you put in a Harmony instead? Either way douche you aren't going to get the software so quit your bitching and bone up for a pro to program it or sell it to someone else that will.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)
