Changing the system code might be a good start...

it's a good habit to ALWAYS change it from zero.

It's comforting to our industry to finally see this happen. It should only happen every day. After all, they built those zone changes in there for just this reason.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Shows how much room my biz has to grow.... I didnt even know you could add zones?

I thought since you programmed the processor and the controller in the same system file that the software issued internal unique addresses to the group.

If this isnt the case then why can I have multiple RP6s and T2C in the same house not control each other even if there is not IR routing.

Hmmmmm..... I am obviously missing something.

Please don't take too much offense at this, I seem to be having one of those days...

but, have you guys gone through the level one training from RTI? Some of the questions that are being asked are covered in the "101" level of the RTI training. I'm talking about the most basic stuff there is...

I can't speak for anyone else, but I feel like a few of us are putting the time in, and some of you are just plain lazy.

As for the ZONE issue.

If you have all the processors and remotes in ONE system file, and addressed properly, They do not cross talk. They CAN however tie up each others RM433's and cause a command to not get through.

If you have one setup in system file A, and another setup in system file B, and both set to the same ZONE CODE, then they will cross talk like crazy. Causing all kinds of commands and macros to be sent to different RP units.

They'll even cross talk with the old IRF-6 if the channel/zone is the same. If you've ever used the IRF-6 and the old T2, the zone setting is just like that channel setting on it and in the remote.

And guys, while we on the suject, when you do select system properties please fill out the contact information and special comments! I always update that with special information on the system - anything that is unorthodox or requested by the client, or explains something that would otherwise be a complete mystery.

I can't tell you how many installs I have taken over where I had to revisit everything that was out of the norm without any insight. If you choose to protect the system file leave a yellow sticky on the processor :)

To say something like this you better back it up with multiple examples rather than one issue.

I have programmed a number of very advanced systems but have not run into an install with two systems that close in proximity that were not in the same system file.

No need to be a dick dude.... I stated that I knew I was missing something from the beginning.

Honestly, it wasn't even remotely (no pun intended) directed at you.
