I wonder if people thing be complaining they can't get the software a dealer will just say "I don't care if they take my dealership away, have a copy of the software."

Many people have information databases, software and other services that are available to people in their profession only. Do you ask your doctor for his password onto the restricted database sites that most of them use now? Do you go to the pharmacy and complain that you know it is an ear infection and you shouldn't need a doctor to prescribe you the medicine for it?

I for one am getting sick and tired of us defending our industry on this one. Do these people complain that their car's engine management system isn't able to be programmed by them? Do they complain when they can't take their cell phone to a different cellular carrier? Go to Starbucks and tell them that you want to make you own Low fat skim latte. When they say no then complain because you know what you want in it so you should be able to make it yourself. You can turn a wrench so maybe Saab or Volvo will let you build your own car.

Look as a DIY person you can't get access to certain things. GET OVER IT!! Go buy a Harmony or any other end user programmable remote. Or pay someone to give you a PROFESSIONAL control device.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

As the TRI family grow the feature sets involved with all of the devices grow. RTI "this is me speaking for RTI", does not want to increase their Tech Support department by ten fold as more end users by te devices and believe that they can handle the simple changes.

Not for nothing but don't you have anything better to do with your time than to mess with macros and tweaks for the remotes.

Wow I should find a way to sell this software. Or at least post it everywhere.

RTI Installer? Yeah right. I highly doubt you have access to the software.

One of the remotes we sell are worth more than your entire system!

Do you own the software to have the rights to sell the software? Are you promoting illegal activities on a public website??

And your point is???

This threw me because I thought at first it was David just playing games... then I realized that I have never seen him do such a thing.

Why doesn't everyone just bite their tongues and stop responding to these threads that pop up. I know I never have 'til now. If no one responds people will eventually stop asking for the software.

Are you directing this comment towards me? Are you an -RTI Installer your self, or are you just trying to piss me off.

I think the rash of jerks that have been showing up on this site lately is due to the fact that we have been cracking down on ebay bootleggers, and they are trying to get even by spaming their nonsense here.

Take this silverspy0 bozo, the guy is a coward, he lists no email address, only that he lives in some slum in NY and cant afford any decent equipment, check out his stats, this guy is fraud

RTI I,
as Alfred E. Newman said in one issue of Mad Magazine, "Small minds run in the same gutter."

I was waiting to read all the posts to call him out for
not having the guts to use his real name (few do)
not having the guts to show his email address (most do)

You beat me to it, and with more attitude than I would have. But you're right.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Hey, I read that Mad Magazine, long ago, it so true though. You must be as old as I am Ernie? So here is a fun test that you will probobly know the answer to, what was Alfred E. Neuman before Mad Magazine? And no cheating doing a google search!!!

Next time someone asks, let's ALL respond with the same answer:

"If you don't like the software policy, don't buy the product"

This should put an end to the requests and save us all a lot of grief. We do not need to defend ourselves or our profession.

DIYs are not part of our business model nor should they be. We supply complete solutions for our clients, were not instructables.com after all. If you've got questions, there's another chain that claims to have the answers.

I would also like to add one thing:

Its really easy to get the software, just call up RTI, and if they see fit, they will even give you a copy themselves...

Good Luck.
